SIDE EVENTS AND SHOWCASE
The Pacific Community (SPC) is releasing a new shared digital public infrastructure that will bring the power of observing the Earth from space to the Pacific region.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of Digital Earth Pacific and we cordially invite you to be a part of the exclusive unveiling of our latest innovation, Digital Earth Pacific.
During the launch, you will have the chance to explore the features and benefits of Digital Earth Pacific, see the value of decades of satellite data and climate change products available for our region, interact with our product experts, and experience firsthand how this revolutionary solution can transform the socio-economic landscape of the Blue Pacific Continent.

- Tour Noumea Port Moselle Market
Visit the market - which is a source for local fresh produce – fruits & vegetables, and seafood – and tis at the heart of local food systems. As we look to addressing food systems deficiencies in the Pacific, the role of markets and broader food system environments is important. Markets as food spaces need to be optimised to be able to transform food systems by seeing how people can supply, purchase, and consume, especially for health and nutrition outcomes.
- Come listen to Indigenous Food Systems Advocate, Guillaume Vama
Drawing on what you see in the local market and its connections to New Caledonia’s indigenous food systems. How local farming practices is crucial in making our food supply systems more resilient because local produce/production, local distribution & consumption creates habits and abilities to weather different disruptions, and crises. Underpinning this is the climate and food nexus and importance of environment and biodiversity.
- Sample and savour a local breakfast
This will be prepared by local foodie & agroecologist, Julien Lebreton. Showcasing what you can purchase from your local markets to prepare nutritious and tasty meals. It strongly showcases the importance of supporting local farming communities and markets as it gives access to nutritious and diverse produce; shows us what is available seasonally connecting us to cycles and nature; recognises the livelihoods opportunities; promotes food literacy, and fosters connections in the community through food.
The Climate Change Flagship Programme takes a key step forward with the introduction of its initial draft. We cordially invite Member States to contribute their valuable feedback and inputs, collectively shaping a resilient Blue Pacific.
